Travel Diaries: Costa Rica

Now that I live on my own and pay for rent… and groceries… and cable… and electricity… my budget for traveling has decreased dramatically. Which is really sad, because I LOVE to travel. I am so grateful and lucky that my parents are so generous. In July, my sister and I will be going with my mom to Ireland. And just a couple weeks ago, we went to Costa Rica with my dad (I guess there are some perks of having divorced parents).

Let me just tell you, this trip was beyond amazing and met my expectations in every way. The resort was beautiful, the food was delicious, the drinks were yummy (and strong!), and the people were so kind. But nothing beat the landscape. I have honestly never been somewhere so incredible and I highly encourage any of you to go to Costa Rica if you ever get the chance.

On a side note, can we talk about the view from the plane on our way there? I was already anticipating the vacation so much that seeing everything from above was so cool.

We stayed at the Riu Guanacaste in Guanacaste, Costa Rica and it was amaaaazing. I am so in love with the place and definitely want to go back as soon as I can.

The best part was that our room had a cute little balcony with the best sunset views. And somehow every evening, the sunsets would just get better and better.

We spent most of our trip at the resort (which I can’t complain about at all), but that’s why the pictures are a little bit limited in a sense. We went zip-lining at The Congo Trail, and even though I was very terrified, it was a lot of fun! The instructors were so friendly and funny and made the experience both relaxing and adventurous (I’m really not sure how..). Unfortunately, their camera systems were down, so we only got a group shot later on. We did got to see some monkeys after and they were sooo cute.

On our last day, we ventured to the beach for a little bit. The resort was right on the beach which was really convenient, and if you have the budget, I highly recommend going for an all-inclusive resort on a beach. That way you can relax at the pool whenever you want, but also experience sand and ocean water and beautiful views like these ones.

Check out my Instagram for more pictures. This was definitely one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. We managed to miss rain almost completely, and did not come in contact with a SINGLE mosquito (take that Zika virus). I can’t wait until I get the chance to come back to this beautiful country in the future.
