Okay, so I think I have a new favorite makeup brand. IT Cosmetics, I love you.
I had heard about the Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer (which I talked briefly about here) from IT Cosmetics and last month when I ventured into Ulta, I figured I should explore it and see if it would be worth the investment. A full size costs $24, which is certainly not cheap. I had tried out a few drugstore concealers and honestly, I wasn’t happy with the results. I have always had really dark under-eye circles so I thought maybe a more expensive formula would work.
Anyways, so I went into Ulta, asked about the product (and what shade would be right for me) and then proceeded to get my makeup done. Normally I hate when the employees try and sell you on other products, but as soon as the makeup artist put IT Cosmetics’ CC Cream (this one) on my face, I pretty much fell in love. It went on so beautifully, felt incredibly lightweight, matched my skin-tone (which was super odd, because she chose the shade “light” and my skin is olive-toned) and covered most, if not all imperfections.
Then came the concealer. Originally, the woman chose the shade “tan,” which is a bit on the darker side. I agreed with the choice, thinking the other shades would be too light (there are only 4 shades, which is the one major downside). However, after she did one side, I wasn’t sure it matched perfectly. It covered pretty much all of the darkness under my eyes but it didn’t exactly brighten my face. She used one shade lighter (the neutral medium shade) and it brightened my face amazingly, but didn’t cover all the blue tones under my eye. We then came to the conclusion that the darker shade matched my skin better, but together they were pretty much perfect. I ended up buying the “tan” shade in full size (since I know once I have some color to my skin it’ll work perfectly) and a $10 sample size of the lighter shade I found in the check-out aisle.
So was it worth it?
Well, the concealers are amazing. You literally need the tiniest amount, no more than pea-sized, to cover any imperfections (I use it on blemishes too, not just under my eyes) and it’s very build-able if you do need more. Now, the CC cream is probably one of my favorite full coverage formulas ever. My face never looks or feels cakey and it lasts forever! I don’t use it on an every day basis because I don’t really need a full face of makeup everyday, but when I do, I pretty much stare at my face all day in awe. I was so in love with these products that I went back and purchased IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Pores finishing powder (it was on sale okay?). And it does exactly what it says, it keeps my pores around my nose and cheeks in check.
The conclusion? 100% worth every penny. If you do want to try these products out, I highly recommend going to Ulta and looking at them in person. Doing so eliminated all my doubts as to whether or not I was making the right choice.
Okay, now I’m going to be brave here, and show you all a picture of me with zero makeup (aside from my brows), and then a picture with just the CC cream, so you can see the difference. And there is absolutely no air-brushing or editing!
And here is one side of my face with concealer and the other without.
Finally, here is me with a finished face (no mascara, bronzer, blush, etc. – just primer, CC cream, concealer, and the finishing powder).
What do you all think? Have any of you tried any of these products? I think I’m going to go back to Ulta and take a sneak peak at what else IT Cosmetics has to offer, so let me know if you have any recommendations!
