How is January already over? I feel like I moved in less than a week ago but I’ve actually been in my apartment for 3 weeks now. Everything is slowly coming together but there are still a lot of things I need to buy (including a desk, wall decor, and a few other things).
Although this month has been hectic, I’ve been making healthy lifestyle changes and I’m really excited to continue with those next month. Granted, I still have some unhealthy obsessions (i.e.: Netflix and snacking), but I’ve been trying to put some healthy twists on them, such as exercising or cleaning while watching a show or replacing unhealthy snacks with healthier ones. Here are some things I’ve been obsessed with this month.
Beauty Product of the Month: St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub & Mask
I talked about this product in my St. Ives reviews (here) but I had to bring it up again. It’s been working wonderfully for me this month as the air has gotten dryer and colder. I love it because I can use it once a week as a mask but I also use it as a scrub to get any dead skin off at the end of the day or after getting out of the shower. I’m not crazy about the smell, but the fact that I still love it so much shows me how great it works!
Accessory of the Month: Fur Boot Slippers
Okay so technically not a real “accessory” but ever since I bought them I’ve been wearing them all over my apartment whenever I’m home. They are so comfortable and so soft, and, they were cheap! They’re from Target (of course) and only about $10 and I love they also come in grey for those worried about getting them dirty.
Netflix Binge of the Month: Making a Murderer
Just jumping on the bandwagon here but this show is awesome. To be honest, I didn’t give it a fair shot in the beginning. I had been really intrigued by it since everyone and their mother has recommended it, but the first 2 episodes were very slow. Now that I’m halfway through, it has gotten 100 times better. I can assure you I’ll finish it this week. I have no idea whether he’s guilty or not, I still haven’t come to a conclusion, but I highly recommend it (let me know in the comments if you’ve come to your own verdict on whether Steven Avery is guilty).
App of the Month: Next Episode
This is an awesome app, especially if you’re someone like me who enjoys watching a lot of television but loses track of shows and then ends up getting behind. It keeps track of all your shows (all you have to do is add your favorites to a list) and shows them in calendar form. I am obsessed with it and it’s free (you can pay $1.00 and it will get rid of the ads and send you reminders).
Candle of the Month: Cinnamon Caramel Swirl
So, sadly, this candle doesn’t seem to be available online anymore at Bath & Body Works. Definitely check in stores, or try out these similar ones which I also love (Praline Pecan Cobbler and Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla). Anyways this one smells so heavenly, just like the name suggests, and is a perfect scent for the cold weather.
What have you all been loving this month? I’ve been on the hunt for some new perfumes (hoping for warmer weather that will give me an excuse to buy a new one) and would love some recommendations. I hope you all had a great January! Looking forward to an even better February. Check out some of my past monthly must-haves here!
