FabFitFun Unboxing: Summer 2016

So it’s obviously clear how much I love subscription boxes (I honestly feel like I can save so much money but I’ll get to that in another post).. and the FabFitFun box is up there as possibly my favorite. For $49.99, this seasonal box packs in an absurd amount of value into one box and always has such useful products for everyone.

They include a products that range from categories including beauty, health, home decor, and so much more. They also partner with a nonprofit organization for every box, which is so amazing to read about and get to be a part of. This summer they have partnered with SurfAid. You can read more about them here!

Okay now onto the box (by the way, if you’re interested in signing up, feel free to use my referral code here and save 20% off your first box). 🙂

Okay so naturally the first two things I noticed when I opened the box were the biggest. My eyes immediately drew to this giant yellow canvas tote by Trina Turk that retails for $55, which might seem a bit absurd but the quality is amazing (unfortunately I can’t find the exact bag online). It is the perfect size for the beach (but I actually secretly want to use it while shopping at farmers markets). I also loooove the handles. Sometimes with canvas bags, the rope handles can be really rough but these are SO soft, which is great, because my shoulders can get really sensitive a bag is packed with really heavy things. I also love the little saying on it (“Sunshine and Saltwater) and even though there were some other color/quote options, this one was definitely my favorite.

The next item I noticed was this Summer & Rose Yoga Towel that retails for $36. I have a love hate relationship with this one because I can always use an extra towel (both for yoga and the beach), but its kind of a weird terry cloth material and I’m not crazy about the variation that I received. The other two quotes were “dream big” and “good vibes” which I resonate a lot more with (mine says “more happy, less worry”). Regardless, it will be put to good use.

The next couple of items I noticed were, of course, beauty products. This Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream ($48… wow) and Stemulation Daily Micro Derm Scrub ($34) are by far my two favorite products in this box. The Osea Cream is a moisturizer and primer in one (which is great timing since I’m almost out of my favorite – this one). My skin has been a bit oily lately and this cream gives a matte finish to your face which is perfect.

And the scrub, smells so good, very citrusy and fresh, and is EXACTLY what I need right now. My skin has been very dry from being outside all the time, and I’ve desperately needed an exfoliator that can be used on my entire body. Also the product quantity is huuuuge.

These next two products are the ones I’m the least excited about. First off is FabFitFun’s Everyday Beach Waves Spray ($18). I’m perfectly happy to see a product by FabFitFun, and I love hair products, but this one just smells like chemicals. I might try it out once, but I’m just not happy with it and there are better beach wave sprays out there.

Then, there’s Passport to Beauty‘s Gypsetter Luminous Lip Gloss (in the color Free Spirit, a dark mauve/magenta) which retails for $18. First of all, that’s a very steep price for a relatively small lip gloss. The gloss is pretty, but the color doesn’t transfer that well onto the lips and it’s very sticky.

The last product I received are these Betchsicles Ice Pop Molds which retail for $19. These are so cute and I’m excited to try out some healthy popsicle recipes with these for the summer.

Usually FabFitFun boxes come with gift cards, so I’m a bit surprised this one didn’t (except for $35 off your first order from Hello Fresh, which I can’t use, because I’ve already had a first order). I’m not complaining though, I’d rather the money go towards high quality products instead of gift cards.

So overall, this box is worth $228. Not as much as last season’s, but I think I actually like this box a little more overall. I know I’ll definitely put a lot of these products to good use.

Do any of you subscribe to FabFitFun? If so, what is your favorite product of this season’s box?

This product was purchased on my own, all opinions are my own.
