I know, I know. I have been an utterly horrible blogger this past month (and also most of the month before that) and I am so sorry. My life has been completely crazy, and although that shouldn’t be an excuse if I want to take blogging seriously, I had to put something on the back burner in order to give me time to breathe and get things done.
So what have I been up to since I clearly haven’t made time for my blog?
Well it all started when I got a new job. After coming back from my short trip to Washington D.C., I immediately started this job (which is about twice the commute I had before). I didn’t even have time to fully unpack, which made life even more a mess. Word of the wise, unpack the day you come back. Otherwise you’ll leave things in your suitcase for weeks. I just FINALLY finished unpacking. Guys it’s been a month…. Oops.
Anyways so I started this new job and within a few days had a mental breakdown because of how horrible of a state my car was in. It was a pretty old car and had recently been hit pretty badly. One of the tail lights had gone out again, after I had just replaced it a few weeks earlier. Because my commute is now so long, it felt pretty horrible driving in my car for over 2 hours a day when every bump in the road made me feel like my car would fall apart. So, I decided it was time to get a new car.
I can’t afford to buy a car right now at full price – so instead I opted to finance a car (basically taking out a loan) for 6 years. I’m lucky that my current job allows me to meet these payments financially, but it’s a big commitment and a decision I rushed. On top of that, it took 2 weeks for my car to get registered and countless of calls between the dealership and my insurance. That is illegal, by the way. So that was super fun.
Even though it was a big commitment and an endlessly frustrated process, every time I get in my new car I know it’s worth it. However, at the same time I also started looking for new apartments that will allow me to cut my commute in half AND get me closer to Boston (which is really my dream)!
So between getting a new job, a new car, and looking for a new place to live, my life has been prettyyyyy hectic. I am going to try my very best to get things rolling with the blog again (although it will probably be sporadic until I sign a new lease). However, once I move, I will fully commit to this blog.
I’m excited to see what I can do with it once I have more time, and I hope that you all will stick by me for the next month while I get my footing. In the mean time, can someone PLEASE shed light on how to successfully juggle a full time job, everyday errands, and blogging on a regular basis? I clearly could really use the help. 🙂
